Casein Protein

Casein Protein is a slow digesting which means it will feed the body for longer than any other protein type. Casein typically reaches protein synthesis peak in 4 to 5 hours. The body will continue to digest for another hour or so past the peak meaning the total time of digestion is around 5 to 6 hours. This is why it is recommended to take Casein at night before bed. The slow digestion rate will keep your body anabolic and hold of the normal transition to catabolic where the body starts to break down muscle tissue proteins to feed it. Casein should be used alongside a daily intake of Whey Protein or Protein Isolate.
